We call them “Workshops” but a more appropriate name might be “Benefit Auction Boot Camp.” Come prepared to soak up more information than you thought an auction would require. You’ll understand planning, volunteers and planning so completely that you’ll have dreams about it. You’ll also dream about planning. And planning as well.
We start with audience development, because our instincts (and years of experience) tell us that the folks sitting in the chairs can make or break your auction. Learn how to identify the right audience for your event, how to get them cheerfully to your auction and how to cleverly open their wallet for your cause.
Volunteer coordination comes up next, one of the most important elements of your auction (who are we kidding – every element of your auction is the most important element). Learn how to identify ideal partners, how to solicit their volunteer time in such a way they feel grateful to you for the opportunity, and how to manage the whole lot of them.
Our workshops show you how to create important materials for your auction including promotions, invitations and thank yous. We’ll work through procurement recommendations and advice on auction set-up and item displaying. Online auctions, payment processing and appropriate flow of visitors will all get some focus. There’s nothing we don’t teach you about, which means that after the workshop people will call you “Smarty-Pants.” And you’ll like it.
